IT'S BEEN A WHILE HUH

Okay firstly: THANK YOU, YOU FINE MYSTERY PERSON WHO GAVE ME A SUBSCRIPTION SO I COULD CHANGE MY NICK! Thank you! I'm sorry I didn't use it for anything else.
Also sorry to every still-active dA follower that I haven't been active here at ALL. I guess I just haven't had the drive to keep anything up to date. Even my tumblr has been pretty dead for a while now... I'm still drawing, I will never stop, and I hope to draw and publish more than I do now, but I have limited energy.
Regarding that limited energy and all, I am currently doing an internship! I will work at Helsinki interpretation agency till December 20th, and next year I will have 2 other internships. It's been really nice so far, and I'm feeling pretty good about myself and life in general, nowadays. I have HOPE again. : D Now if I'd also have the energy to draw like crazy in the same time, everything would be perfect.
Summa summarum: I'm really tired a lot, but I'm doing pretty okay in life at the moment, and enjoying things. Yay!
Now then, I'll just go ahead and post a birthday/Christmas wishlist right here. : D If you for whatever reason want to wish me happy party month December, here are some ideas, but really, talking to me is plenty, too! <3
1. Fanworks of things relevant to my interest. Feel free to ask about anything, but Sengoku Basara is a fairly obvious choice. Xd
2. Stuff about my own characters! I need motivation to get my webcomic going properly.
3. Talk to me about my fandoms/ships/OCs! Or come visit and play Sengoku Basara or Guilty Gear with me. Or invite me over to play or watch anime. Or RP with me. Enjoying things with someone is at least five times as fun as doing it alone!
4. Anything from my pixel dragon wishlist!
5. Cosplay with me! I'm so so SO bad at getting my cosplays done in time, but I want to participate in group- and couple cosplays so badly... orz God, give me strength and will to complete my anime disguises.
With that, Happy December to everyone! I will try my best to update this journal and my dA a bit more often from now on. >o</ I have a few more things to say...

Wow, my last journal is from last fall? Gee...
In any case, here's some news! Team Pärvelö's new anthology, Gaijin, is for sale TODAY in Tampere Kuplii! You can also pick it up tomorrow, and the next time is Hypecon on 8.6.2013. Or you could also order it from our web shop.
Gaijin features short comic form articles by 14 artists (including us Pärvelös, yes, even laurahaapamaki! : D) in full color. The subjects range from cooking mochi, Japanese pop-artists, and ball-jointed dolls to the Sengoku Basara series and how the comic itself was put together and published. You can see previews in the Team Pärvelö tumblr!
Here's the cover, a collaboration by myself, Laura, and Susapp.

In other news...nothing exciting, I guess. :,D I had a go with some meds that didn't work out and now I'm waiting for a doctor's appointment to see about what next. I've been kind of listless for a time, lately. v_v I managed to get some friends into Sengoku Basara, so life has been...Basara. That much can be easily observed from my fanart tumblr, too.
On personal projects...as soon as I manage to rally some more effort on that front, I'll make a new journal about it. Hopefully sooner than later!

Hey everyone!
I think I've been getting surprising amounts of new watchers despite being so inactive....you're all very patient! Thank you. I'll try to upload things every once in a while. :,>
In other news, Team Pärvelö will appear next weekend in Helsinki Comic Festival! Go find them in the Pienlehtitaivas tent in Lasipalatsinaukio. Our super great comic anthology Hyi, Homoa! is being sold there! And what's more, there's a comic exhibition with my and Hanna-Pirita's original comic pages at Manga Café Amai. If you haven't checked out Helsinki's first and only manga café, you totally should! (And you can read some of our comics in there too. ;> )
I, on the other hand, will be traveling to Tracon! (You can buy Hyi, Homoa! in there as well, though I won't have an artist alley table. Myrntai and Team Mustempi will have them in their table!) I'll appear in the fanart panel at 20-21 on Saturday with oranges-lemons, dodostad, Myrntai and LEPPU, and host a cosplay croquis workshop with LEPPU and hopefully many models: on 13-16 Sunday! My disguises will be Sollux and Roxy from Homestuck on Saturday and Sunday respectively. You can say hi, but I'm so bad with remembering people it's not even funny! I apologise in advance. :,D Also, I might be a bit blind due to contacts.....
But yeaaah come see the programs! Or go say hi to HP and Susapp at the Comic Festival. : D

Animecon and Tripping Out

Wow, time sure runs once again... >.>;
This time Team Pärvelö will appear in Animecon, this Saturday and Sunday! Come visit out table and get your Hyi Homoa!-book or postcards or something. : D I'll be selling sketch commissions too! Like this: nekotsume.deviantart.com/art/T… (Except I'll only draw in black and white this time, there was no room to bring my Copics.) So it's like give me a commission (and ref, preferrably) and then I'll draw it for you while you tour the con. 8>
After the con ends, I'll join Sqwiik and drive all the way up to Rovaniemi to visit laurahaapamaki! I'll stay there a few days and then take a train and go stay at oranges-lemons'. After that, it's a bus ride to Tampere and/or Turku to see LEPPU, muura and SuloColeoptera and everyone's new apartments. ...Aaand then I'll stop by home and swap my luggage and go to Ropecon. : D Isn't this super cool or what? Heh heh.
Other than that...I'm feeling a bit lost regarding to What Do Next Year....so I'm just...drawing and stuff. I made my first ever RP blog too: It's a Homestuck fantroll.
Buuuut that's about it! I'll be heading off!

Hyi, Homoa! and Why You Want It

Hey everybody!
Desucon is upon us, starting on this Friday 8.6. and lasting till Sunday 10.6. I'll be co-hosting a workshop about performing at 21:00-00:00 on Saturday and a visual novel meet at 11:30-13:00 on Sunday with my lovely pal Mijaskal, so come see us! ; ) Also I'll be cosplaying Roxy Lalonde on Friday and Sunday, and Sollux on Saturday. AND Team Pärvelö has an artist alley table! Right next to the all new comics table that sells all manner of self-published zines from all the authors who couldn't attend themselves! (This pic got made into post cards, but the Pärvelö table will have more than that. ;3 ) There's a lot to see in other words.
But!!!
That is not all! Because the thing about this Desucon I am looking forward to the MOST is the
Hyi, Homoa! comic anthology! ("Ew, That's Gay!")
- Do you like BL/yaoi?
- Did you USE to like it, but started to find the majority of the genre somewhat silly or repetitive?
- Are you interested in keeping up with what's happening in the Finnish comic scene, especially the part of it that draws inspiration from manga and Japanese culture?
- Do you like high quality comics?
In any of those cases, Hyi, Homoa! is not a book you want to miss! 16 of the most awesome young names in the Finnish comic scene assembled to produce this sequential art anthology with humor, tragedy, and even some scientific text. Hyi, Homoa! is a fresh Finnish take on BL (or simply, guys getting together).
In other words, Hyi, Homoa! is a comic book with 104 pages that contain 17 short oneshots and a text centered around the themes "Finland" and "homosexuality". The language is Finnish and the book is for readers aged 15 and up. And here's a list of the contributing artists:
